NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE INCREASES APRIL 2020

Updated: Oct 13

It may well have slipped under your radar, with the small matter of a global health and business crisis to contend with, but as of April 2020 there are new rates for the N.M.W

One good question in the current climate is ;

"Do these new rates affect the N.M.W. staff I have had to furlough and should their payment increase accordingly, whilst they are furloughed?"

The answer is no. The new rate is only payable to staff who are actively working from either April 1 2020, or those N.M.W. furloughed staff when they return to work after furlough.

Age 25 and over 21-24 18-20 Under 18 Apprentice

2020 £8.72 £8.20 £6.45 £4.55 £4.15

2019 £8.21 £7.70 £6.15 £4.35 £3.90
