Garstang Office Andrew Winstanley joined Towers and Gornall in 1980, becoming a partner in 1995. Andy has a wide portfolio of clients and is a great example of the hands on approach that the partners offer to their clientele. As the Managing Partner it is Andy's responsibility to oversee the smooth running of the business and its three offices. Living in Forton with his wife and two sons, Andrew enjoys walking the family dog, clay pigeon shooting and is highly involved in Garstang Cricket Club.
Jonathan Cross has vast experience in the agricultural sector and also has a varied portfolio of other businesses. He has a thorough understanding of local economic factors. He has been at Towers and Gornall since 1985 and became a partner in 2000. Jonny lives in Catterall with his wife and two children, he enjoys football, cricket and golf.
Mick Gornall has been a partner since 2001, after starting at Towers and Gornall 10 years previously. He has a general portfolio of small to medium sized businesses and also specialises in accounting for the licenced trade and the healthcare profession with doctors, dentists, vets and care homes as clients. Mick was born in Garstang and has been a keen sportsman all his life having represented the town at football and cricket. He enjoys a round of golf and recently ran the New York and Chicago marathons for charity.
Consultant William Richmond is a well known and prominent figure in the community - mainly through his local charity work. He specialises in farm accounting and tax, but has a broad spectrum of knowledge gained from his years at Towers and Gornall. William was Managing Partner from 1987 to 2004 and moved over into his consultancy role in 2009. He is a railway enthusiast and enjoys fell walking both in the UK and abroad.
Clitheroe Office Tom Bennett joined Towers and Gornall in 2001 and is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Tax and the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Tom deals with the audits of the larger corporate clients of the practice as well as looking after his own portfolio of coporate clients which cover a wide range of businesses. Tom enjoys work, travelling and reading.
Mary Smith joined Towers and Gornall's audit team in 2001 and became a partner in 2006. Mary has a general portfolio of small and medium sized businesses covering sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. She also acts for a number of small local charities and sports clubs. Mary enjoys travelling, walks in the country and attending rock concerts.
Consultant David Lynch gained an Economics Degree in Swansea before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1971. He has a wealth of experience looking after large clients during his time with firms in Manchester and Blackburn. In 1974 he became a Partner in Edward Chester & Son of Clitheroe before continuing as a Partner in Towers and Gornall when the firms merged in 2001. David is married with two daughters and a son and enjoys walking, golf and tennis.
Bentham Office David Kirkhope is originally from Blackpool. He joined Towers and Gornall in 2001 and became a Partner in 2004. He has a large portfolio of clients at both the Clitheroe and Bentham offices. He specialises in farming and agricultural related business. David is married with two children and is a keen supporter of Blackpool Football Club.
He is supported at Bentham by an experienced team of local staff including a tax manager.
